Frequently asked questions

How does the postal repair service work?
  • Please make sure you read and understand all the answers before booking a postal repair service, and follow the steps below.
  • Shipping your faulty navigation system or audio amplifier to us is paid by you and is not included in the postal repair service price. The price for shipping it back to you after repair is added on the checkout page.

Step 1. Book your repair

Step 2. Print your order confirmation

We’ll email it to you straight after booking. No printer? Write your order number on a piece of paper and put it in the box with your sat nav unit or amplifier.

Step 3. Pack your sat nav unit or amplifier safely

Wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in a sturdy box with your order confirmation or order number. Please don’t put any tape directly on the unit or amplifier itself or on the bubble wrap, only tape the box.

Step 4. Post it to us

Send it to the NaviTex address shown on your order confirmation. We recommend a tracked postal service, so you can follow your parcel all the way to us. You need to arrange and pay for the postage to us yourself. The shipping you pay on our website is only to send your head unit or amplifier back to you, so we won’t send you a postage label.

Step 5. We repair, test and return it

When it arrives, we repair it and test it. If you give us your phone number, we’ll send you a WhatsApp video of it working. Then we post it back to you.

  • Our current turnaround time for postal repair services is between 1-3 working days, depending on what the fault with your navigation system or audio amplifier is. A diagnosis takes 1 to 5 working days from when we receive your unit.

  • Please note that “Turnaround time” refers to the time your navigation system or amplifier will stay with us for repair and test, it doesn’t include shipping time.
  • We send every repaired unit back with Royal Mail, signed for. The cover is provided by Royal Mail, not by NaviTex: up to £75 with Tracked 24 with Signature, or up to £750, £1,000 or £2,500 with Special Delivery. If your parcel is lost or damaged, we will make the claim with Royal Mail for you, and any payment is limited to the cover you chose.
  • Sending your head unit or amplifier to us is your responsibility, so please use a tracked service with enough cover.
  • Yes, you can book a repair from outside the UK. We are authorised to move sat nav units and amplifiers in and out of the UK for repair purposes. If you book from outside the UK you will receive our Economic Operators Registration and Identification number for your customs declaration.
  • If you are trying to book from outside the UK and getting the “sorry, we don’t deliver to your area” message on checkout, please use the Contact Us form on our website to get a quote for shipping.

  • For UK mainland our go-to shipping company is Royal Mail. You can request us to use your favourite shipping company by adding a note on the checkout page.

  • For Europe and the rest of the world, we use DHL, FedEx or UPS.

  • Yes. Repairs come with a 12 month NaviTex warranty, or 6 months if the unit had been opened, repaired or taken apart by someone else before.

  • Replacement units come with a 6 month warranty.

  • Every unit has a warranty sticker with its own code and a date. Your warranty starts on that date and must be registered on our Warranty page within 30 days.

  • The warranty covers the same fault we repaired.

  • The warranty is void if our warranty seals have been tampered with.

Go to our Warranty page and choose Register a warranty. Type the code and date from your warranty sticker and your email address. If you ordered on our website or on eBay, add your order number too. If you didn’t order online, leave the order number empty and add your name and phone number. If you have a trader account, log in and choose the repair from your list.

Yes. On our Warranty page, choose Register a warranty and type your eBay order number (like 12-34567-89012), your email address and the code and date from your sticker.

On our Warranty page, choose Check or claim, check your warranty, then press Start a warranty claim. We will email you your claim number and where to send your unit. You pay to send it to us, and we pay to send it back.

Our Warranty page only accepts registrations within 30 days of the date on the sticker. If you have missed this, please contact us.

  • We have a very high success rate repairing the units listed on our website. Unless someone else attempted to repair your head unit or amplifier before, then your device should be repairable.
  • In case it is a “Non repair” you’ll be refunded in full except the shipping cost.
  • Yes, by appointment only. Choose “Drop off and collect” on the checkout page, then contact us to arrange a time.
  • On some repair services you can also tick “Removal and reinstallation” before booking: bring your car to us and we remove the unit, repair it and refit it.
  • If we find another fault, we will contact you before doing any extra work. If you agree, we will email you a secure link to pay the extra charge by card.

No. If we’ve asked you to send your head unit or amplifier over to be checked, you can book a free diagnosis. You only pay the postage: you arrange sending the unit to us yourself, and the return postage is paid at checkout. If it can be repaired, we’ll contact you with a price before doing any work. If not, we’ll send it back to you.
