Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 November 2026

These terms apply to all orders placed on navitex.co.uk. By placing an order, you agree to them. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About us

NaviTex is a sole trader business based at 78 Clincton View, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 8RW, United Kingdom. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

2. Our services

  • postal repair services for car sat nav head units and amplifiers
  • drop off and collect repairs, by appointment only
  • removing and fitting units on selected repair services, by appointment only
  • refurbished replacement units
  • free diagnosis, for customers we have asked to send their unit in to be checked

Each service page shows the price, what the repair covers and its warranty period.

3. Placing an order

All prices are in British Pounds (£). Your order is accepted when we send you the order confirmation email. Please give us accurate details, including your vehicle’s VIN and the fault where asked. If there is an obvious pricing mistake or we cannot carry out your order, we may cancel it and refund you in full. If we have not received your unit within 30 days of your order, we may cancel it and refund you, minus the card processing fee.

4. Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay, bank transfer, and cash on collection (drop off and collect only). If you choose bank transfer, payment must reach us within 7 days, or we may cancel your order.

Bookings can be changed once, or cancelled, online up to 48 hours before the appointment, and any deposit paid is refunded in full. Within 48 hours, bookings cannot be changed or cancelled, and the deposit is not refunded if you do not attend.

If you cancel a postal repair before posting your unit, we refund you less the card processing fee charged by our payment provider. If we cancel, we refund you in full.

If we find another fault, or your unit needs more work than you booked, we will contact you before doing any extra work. If you agree, we will email you a secure link to pay the extra charge by card.

5. Sending your unit to us

You pay the cost of sending your unit to us. Pack it safely in a sturdy box, do not put tape directly on the unit, and include your order number. We recommend a tracked and insured service, as the unit is your responsibility until it reaches us.

If the unit we receive is different from what you booked, or needs a different repair, we will contact you before going any further.

6. Repairs

Our turnaround time is 1 to 3 working days from when your unit arrives, not including shipping time.

Settings, radio codes or saved data can sometimes be lost during a repair. We will warn you before going ahead where this is likely. We are not responsible for data lost because of a previous repair attempt by someone else.

Our repairs come with a 12‑month warranty. If your unit had been opened, repaired or taken apart by someone else before you sent it to us, the warranty is 6 months. We set up your warranty for you, and it starts on the day we send your unit back to you. This also applies to repairs and replacement units bought from us on eBay. For units we sent back before 26 October 2026, the warranty runs from the day the order was completed, or the day it was bought on eBay. Orders that were refunded or cancelled have no warranty. A warranty claim does not extend your warranty. If we find a different fault and you decide not to go ahead, or we find no fault, you pay the return postage.

Repair warranty and what happens if we cannot repair your unit are explained in our Return and Refund Policy.

7. Free diagnosis

The diagnosis is free. You pay the cost of sending your unit to us, and the cost of sending it back, which is added at checkout. If your unit can be repaired, we will contact you with a price before doing any work. If you go ahead, we will email you a secure link to pay for the repair. If your unit cannot be repaired, or you decide not to go ahead, we will send it back to you.

8. Sending your unit back

The cost of sending your unit back is added at checkout. For UK delivery you choose the Royal Mail service and how much cover it has. The cover is provided by Royal Mail, not by NaviTex. If your unit is lost or damaged in the post, we will make the claim with Royal Mail for you, and any payment is limited to the cover you chose and to Royal Mail’s terms. Customers outside the UK are responsible for any import duties, taxes or customs charges.

9. Units left with us

If you do not reply to us, pay for a repair or an extra charge, or collect your unit, we will keep it for 90 days from when we last contacted you. After that, we may dispose of it.

10. Replacement units

Our replacement units are refurbished and come with a 6‑month warranty, which starts on the day we send the unit to you. Returns and faulty units are covered in our Return and Refund Policy.

11. Trader accounts

Trader accounts are by invitation. We invite customers to apply once we have completed 5 repairs for them, and we approve each account. Approved traders get 5% off repair services, and 10% once we have completed 10 repairs for them. The discount does not apply to replacement units. We may close a trader account at any time.

12. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for:

  • faults caused by removal or fitting not done by us
  • damage caused by a previous repair attempt by someone else
  • loss or damage to your unit while it is being sent to us
  • business losses, such as loss of profit or income

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

13. Privacy

How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy and Cookies Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown when you placed it.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
